Day 076 (18 Mar 2023) - Darwin, Australia
DAY 076 (18 MAR 2023) – Today, I visited the Crocosaurus Cove, just 50 meters from my hotel. The entrance fee for seniors is AUD 30 (RM 90).
The Reptile House had the world’s largest display of about 70 species of Australian Reptiles. It was fascinating to see many of these reptiles up close, particularly the huge saltwater crocodiles. Made sure to capture them on video, especially a crocodile gobbling up meat as it was being fed by its caretaker – such menacing teeth!
Then, there was the ‘Cage of Death’, Australia’s only crocodile dive – I saw 2 brave participants getting into a glass cage surrounded by a giant saltwater crocodile.
There was also an exhibition of prehistoric crocodile wax replicas with descriptive explanations. The written display explaining the differences between a crocodile and an alligator was interesting.
