Day 083 (25 Mar 2023) - Darwin to Elliott, Australia
DAY 083 (25 MAR 2023) – Today, I begin my riding journey in Australia.
I will take me a week to travel from Darwin to my final destination, Melbourne. I had to reschedule my initial plans due to the delays, limited time, and some road limitations on previously planned routes.
I started my journey early at 6.15 am from Darwin to Elliott. I managed to arrive at 5.20 pm after riding for about 730 km. As per advise, I am making sure to ride between dawn and dusk.
It was an interesting journey - just me alone riding along an empty, quiet highway between swathes of open landscape. Occasionally, one or 2 vehicles or large trucks passed by. Despite the gravel road, it was a smooth ride all the way with my BMW bike set on auto-cruise (within the speed limits of course).
Stayed overnight at the Midland Caravan Park at Elliott. It was a single room that looked like a tiny house and cost AUD 65 (RM 191) a night.
