Day 231 - I Visited the Anfield Stadium: Home of Liverpool Football Club!

Updated: Sep 1, 2023

Day 231 (20 Aug 2023) - Liverpool, England

DAY 231 (20 AUG 2023) (continued) – After a brief visit to Old Trafford in Manchester, I left for a 1 ½ hour ride to Liverpool. I didn’t miss the chance to visit the famous Anfield Stadium.

This iconic stadium has been home to the Liverpool football club since their formation in 1892! The stadium was built in 1884 and has a seating capacity of about 60,000, making it the 5th largest football stadium in England.

Coming from a football-crazy nation, there are many MU and Liverpool fans back home in Malaysia, and I am happy to have visited both these iconic places where all the football action happens!

After a brief visit to Anfield Stadium, I finally arrived at the home of Mr Silvy, Abhi’s friend. A few days ago, I spoke to him over the phone and he invited me to stay at his beautiful home in Liverpool. Mr Silvy is also a fellow biker and he rides a Suzuki GSXR 1000R. He is the founder of the “Kerala Tuskers Motorcycle Club”, and there are about 107 riders who are members of this club including Abhi.

Mr Silvy is from Kerala and this was the first time I met him and his beautiful family. Mr Silvy works as a Operations Manager at DoubleTree by Hilton, in Liverpool, while his wife, Madam Rincy works at a bank. They have 2 lovely children.

I have spent the last few days having delicious homecooked Indian meals, which I have missed a lot since I began my travels. Here too, I had Kerala rice with dhall, chicken curry, tamarind pickle (“inchi puli”), “appalam” and some amazing tea.
