Day 231 (20 Aug 2023) - Manchester, England
DAY 231 (20 AUG 2023) – In the morning, Abhi and his wife made some tasty “Kerala Puttu” along with some dhal curry for breakfast. This was another amazing dish I had not had in a long time.
After staying 2 days at Abhi’s home, it was time to leave for my next destination. I thanked Abhi and his wife for their kind generosity and hospitality.
Abhi and Johnson, a biker friend I met yesterday followed me on their individual bikes for another 70 kilometres. We stopped at a restaurant for a cup of tea before I left for a 5 hour ride from Bristol to Liverpool.
It was nice meeting and riding with fellow bikers, Abhi, Guru, Pramod and Johnson. We had great conversations and shared our travel and bike riding experiences.
Before heading to Liverpool, I took a detour to Manchester, which was just less than an hour away from Liverpool. I visited the famous Old Trafford Stadium, home of Manchester United (MU), the world-famous English football club!
The Old Trafford Stadium is the largest club football stadium in UK with a capacity of over 70,000. It has been home to the Manchester United football club since 1910, after the construction of the building was completed in 1909. Much of the original structure was destroyed during the 2nd World War in the 1940s, and the stadium was reconstructed and has since undergone various renovations and expansions.
