Day 134 (15 May 2023) - Omura to Fukuoka, Japan
DAY 110 (21 APR 2023) – With all documents approved, I began my ride in Japan from Narita Airport Hostel to Sendai.
With the temperature at about 11 C, I had to wear a neck warmer throughout the 5 hour ride to deal with the cold breeze.
Sendai is one of Japan's largest cities with many tourist attractions, such as the Sendai Daikannon. The Sendai Daikannon is a large statue of the Japanese Buddhist Bodhisattva, the Goddess of Mercy and Compassion. She is holding the 'cintamani' gem in her hands. This statue stands firmly on a hill at 100 meters (330 feet), overlooking the city.
I came across several structures, temples and shrines with very unique and distinct architecture.
Ever since I arrived at Japan, the sun rises very early between 4-5 am and sets between 6-7 pm.
