Day 183 (03 July 2023) - Vishny Volochyok to St Petersburg, Russia
DAY 183 (03 JULY 2023) – I left Vishny Volochyok for a 4 hour ride to St Petersburg, my final destination in Russia. Along the way, I came across a certain section of the forest full of amazing poplar trees, which have very thin barks.
It was a smooth ride all the way to the 2nd largest city in Russia, situated on the Neva River. St. Petersburg is a Russian port city on the Baltic Sea. Founded in 1703 by Peter the Great,
it was the imperial capital for 2 centuries.
This bustling city has many historical buildings, that were beautifully lit at night. It remains Russia's cultural and heritage center, with venues such as the Mariinsky Theatre hosting opera and ballet, and the State Russian Museum showcasing Russian art.
I stayed at the Christopher Hotel for a price of R1500 (RM 78) for 2 nights, inclusive of parking.
