Day 292 - Nurturing Nature: We Planted 2 Trees, the "Magnolia Virginia" & the "Northern Red Oak" at the Fred G. Bond Metro Park in Cary, North Carolina, USA

Updated: Feb 14

Day 292 (20 Oct 2023) - Cary, North Carolina, USA

DAY 292 (20 OCT 2023) – In the morning, Prethib and myself headed to the Fred G. Bond Metro Park for a tree planting activity.

We were joined by Prethib's friend, Bud and Prethib’s mother-in-law.

Since Prethib had made arrangements with the city council a few weeks ago, the park management officers had already prepared a spot for the tree planting activity. Together, we planted 2 trees, namely the “Magnolia Virginia” and the “Northern Red Oak” (“Quercus Rubra”).

I am very thankful to Prethib for taking the initiative, and to everyone who participated in the tree planting activity.

Later, Prethib, Bud and myself headed to “Anjappar” restaurant for lunch. I also got myself a haircut after a long time – the last time was when I was in France.

In the evening, Prethib took me to visit the Sri Venkateswara Temple of North Carolina, which was not too far away from his home.

Later, I had dinner at his home with his family. I finally met Prethib’s wife, who had returned from New York.
